Post-operative care after buttock augmentation with fat injection is similar to liposuction aftercare (with a few differences and restrictions). All patients must wear a compression garment for at least two weeks after the fat injection to help firm the buttocks. A compression garment or lightweight, flexible fabric should be used over the buttocks area after fat transfer augmentation. Patients will also be advised to avoid prolonged sitting during the first two weeks after the procedure. Of course, it’s understood that many people must sit at work, so it is recommended that when sitting, the patient leans slightly forward and sits more on the back of the thighs instead of directly on the buttocks.

Can the patient sit after fat injection to the buttocks?

After fat transfer to the buttock area, the patient can sit after two weeks, but only on a donut-shaped pillow or yoga mat. Most patients are able to walk the day after the fat transfer.
What are the advantages of fat injection to the buttocks compared to implants?

In the fat injection method, fat tissue is taken from the patient's own body, so the risk of allergic reaction — unlike buttock implant surgery — does not exist, because what is injected is natural. In contrast, buttock implant surgery uses synthetic implants. The fat transfer method also removes unwanted fat from other areas of the body.
